Setting the scene for 2013

A luncheon to celebrate International Women's Day
- Lesley Young, member of the ACWW Agriculture Committee will share her experiences and thoughts. Lesley was previously CWA of A National President.
- Daniel Taylor, New Zealand Consul General, will speak on New Zealand, our 2013 Country of Study.
- meet up with other members interested in the International aspect of our Association.

2013 Country of Study - New Zealand/Aotearoa
From the ACWW/International & Community Support Committee of the Country Women's Association of Victoria Inc. - Merry Xmas and our very best wishes for 2013
With 2012 almost at an end, reflections on the Year are useful before starting 2013.
It has been a very productive year.
Community Support:
members have continued to strongly supported this area in our Association- both in local areas and the South Pacific.
The projects with Corrections Victoria and another with many Maternal and Child Health nurses in various parts of the State have been of great interest and value. The knitted teddies and dolls that members sending in are just delightful.

The women of Los Palos, Timor Leste have received sewing goods and birthing kits.
A range of goods have been sent to other sister societies in the South Pacific as well.
Country of Study:
Cambodia has not only been enjoyable, especially exploring food of Cambodia, it has also been interesting. Culturally a very different country facing many challenges.
Women Walk the World:
an event that members took to their hearts, connecting with women around the world.
UN Status of Women Network
We have been learning about the workings of this Network, linking with other like minded women's groups. Topics have included Housing affordability for women and a speaker from Stop the Traffik.

Celebrating International Rural Women's Day
On Monday 15th October members came together for a Luncheon, reflecting upon the situation of Rural Women around the world
Peter Walsh, Victorian Minister for Agriculture and Water, was guest speaker. Robust discussions were had on a range of subjects in the areas of agriculture and water.

Day five - final day
Friday 5th September - Ruth and I set off from Bendigo on a two or so hour drive to Shepparton, where the members of Caniambo branch were the hostess branch.
On arrival at the Shepparton East Football Club rooms we were greeted by members from 19 branches: Caniambo, Pine Lodge, Yarrawonga, Myrtleford, Shepparton East, Grnahamvale, Shepparton Sunset, Youanmite, Catrandra West, Congupna, Rodney, Rushworth, CWA Potters, Dookie, Sheridan Kyabram, Murchison, Milloo, Thoona, Mooroopna.
A lovely lunch was enjoyed with much conversation followed by Ruth's presentation and taking of questions.
Mid afternoon Ruth and I parted ways, her to head home to Dubbo, NSW, me to Gippsland. We have had 5 marvellous days, meeting many hundreds of members and friends in various locations across Victoria.
Ruth has left with me a copy of her presentation - 'A trip around the South Pacific'- introducing us to our sister societies and the work of the past few years. If anyone would like a copy, contact me via our Office.
So, a big thanks, to all tho assisted in so many ways, to all those members who came - many travelling great distances.
